Daryn Reeder Speech provides in-home, in-school, and virtual speech-language therapy services throughout the Austin area, as well as virtual services to clients in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
My Approach
My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming space where every client feels understood, confident, and excited to communicate.
Relationships come first. I believe that building trust and connection is the foundation for meaningful progress. I take the time to get to know each client—their interests, personality, communication style, and what motivates them—before focusing on data collection.
I also believe that motivation matters. Therapy should be engaging, meaningful, and individualized, so I follow my clients' lead and stay flexible. That might mean a session on the playground, practicing social skills at the mall or a coffee shop, or calling Grandma and Grandpa to practice family names.
I believe therapy should fit the individual—not the other way around. My goal is to make communication meaningful, functional, and fun while celebrating each client's strengths and helping them build confidence along the way.
Client and family-centered approach
I help families explore AAC options and find the right communication tools for their child. I also provide training and support for teachers, caregivers, and family members to create more inclusive, communication-rich environments.
In-home & school-based therapy
In-home and school-based therapy allows children to practice communication skills in the environments where they naturally live, learn, and interact. This promotes generalization of skills, while offering families the convenience and comfort of therapy within their child’s everyday routines.
Neurodiverse-Affirming Care
I celebrate each child’s unique way of communicating through a compassionate, play-based, child-led approach that follows their interests, strengths, and individual needs.
